Watching a “refresher” video on the past two House of Dragons seasons to get ready for s3 starting tonight.

I remember because of the pandemic and other things, S2 did not have its “big war” episode like GOT did. It was postponed for this season and it might come tonight or by e4. I just want the show to hold interest.

Last week in Chicago was the opening of the Obama center. A lot of people were there for it: George Bush and wife, the Clintons,  and others. The old guard (if I can call them that?) are still around. I saw Al Gore on TV talking about the 20th anniversary of his environment movie, and Kamala Harris was on book tours and shows up now and then.

When 47 took over and ramped up ICE, and all these protests,  people took out their frustrations protesting at Kamala Harris’ book signings and asking “Where is Obama in all this?” and where are the past leaders now? As if any of them can do something or have the drive anymore to start some social media soundbite war or protest movements. I guess once you have been in the public eye, the public will still obligate you to serve their interests. (Who knows?)

New York: The Canyon of Heroes is too small and narrow a parade route to celebrate a championship of the Knick’s magnitude.

Next time the city might have to do it on a broad 5th Avenue like they do the St. Patrick’s parade or maybe the parade route they have for Thanksgiving.

People were turned away. Subway stops were skipped. Some woke up at 4am to be there. Crazy.

But they won.

I saw the last of Euphoria. It needs to be studied someday about how a show that was at one time white hot and so viral can lose so much steam.
You can tell that a lot of the cast were so over it and just filling out their contracts and mailing in their scenes.
They’ve moved on to more promising projects and they got their exposure/popularity from the show already
Anyway, it’s over and that’s that. That finishes for me streaming the Boys, Daredevil, and Euphoria

Knicks are on a roll. They just might… you know.

Last time they won the championship was 1973. The thing is: If you visit the Boston Garden, they have so many championship banners hanging from the 80s onward. The LA arena has banners from the 80s (Magic Johnson, Kareem), the Kobe Bryant years, Lebron etc. Chicago has them from the Jordan Pippen era. Same with Golden State, San Antonio, Miami etc.

But for some reason, people still want to call Madison Square Garden the center (Mecca) of basketball, when their last championship was 53 years ago. No tradition, no legacy… smh

It’s over and it’s time.

I hope the audience sees Starr and decide to check out his previous show Banshee.

TIL: In 1998, when Toy Story 2 was in production, 90% of the files were accidentally completely erased, meaning the film would have to be scrapped. However, an animator Galyn Susman, took the hard drives home to work on while she was on maternity leave. Because she had backups of the files, the film was saved and released to rave reviews. However, in 2023, Pixar (under Disney’s ownership) laid her off in one of their sweeping waves, despite her saving the film (and likely the company) all those years ago.

That Voting Rights Act being gutted. All the 60s protests, marches, speeches, riots to get it all rolled back.
The same situation (although earlier) with Roe v Wade, affirmative action/DEI etc. All the struggles to get those rights/gains all being undone now.
As for the SCOTUS makeup now, there were 4 seats that would have went the other way. It hurts.
Well, here is to the ones who tried to do right by the people but are always outnumbered. (Makes me wonder about their workplace):

Some shows are back again like DD Born Again, Boys, and Euphoria starts tomorrow.

Last time it was set as the cool kids in high school and the show went viral. This season is a time jump of 5 years and picks up where they all are now in their lives. Most likely it will be the last season as season 2 was a long time ago, times have changed, no longer set in high school, and most of the cast got very popular and moved on to movies and other projects.

Counting crows, 9 inch nails, Korn, X, Smashing Pumpkins, Blue Oyster Cult, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Matchbox 20, and Cranberries. I don’t know the 4th one.

In the Netflix series, there were competing mob factions. One of them was Asian and they operated from the ports to smuggle weapons and drugs. The show could move on from the Kingpin to Asian mobs and that might be the storyline to bring in ninjas etc. We’ll see

When I read Miller’s run on the title, it made me wonder “What are ninjas doing on 48th and 10th?”. It was comics and explained that the Kingpin could hire elite assassins. That might not go over well on streaming, but an Asian mob succeeding Fisk it might work that way.

Ep 4 – I passed by a few of the buildings. Now I know why the security guy had me put away my phone when Cox and Bethel stepped out in cloaks that day. It’s one thing to be a spectator at a filming site and then see the finished product on TV.

I hear they are doing season 3 now. I want to know if a few sites are in the area. Addictive.

But it all makes me wonder: Can the show move on from the Kingpin? If so, how? Who would be the main villain?

I had a thanks to njerry posting… I have always been railing about voter mentality for the longest. The US has been called a “stupid country” and there have been books touching on the sociology of people voting against their best interests, voting to spite others, single issue, ignorance, being fickle, not seeing the bigger picture etc. and then always these questions of “Why can’t the US have some of these cool national programs like in other countries?” (As one book said when it came to things that used to be exclusive only to them, they would rather not have that benefit that would be all inclusive. They would vote against it out of spite just to deprive the rest.)

Some of the MAGA voters are regretting their decisions only because it’s starting to affect their bottom line. They really voted for others to be the target and are upset now that they did not see how interconnected things were. They never expected it, but they ended up voting for their own foreclosure, being let go from work, paying more overall (gas, groceries). Some ended up voting for their own deportation. It’s all a mess.

So George Perez based some Titans characters off of some celebs. The same with Byrne and now I find this out:
