Senator Kelly sounds like a good choice (Provided he doesn’t restart building Sentinels 🤣)

Still… it comes down to US voter mentality, mindset. I’ve read and posted the gist of books and essays on the subject and this pic mentions education:

She had her chance. She needs to sit 2028 out.

It was literally an emergency because of Biden at that debate. She was so much a “last minute” option.

But who can the Dems “develop” now as a viable candidate?

  • #146953

Maybe it could be both. Both were happening bands in the 90s.

Some shows are back again like DD Born Again, Boys, and Euphoria starts tomorrow.

Last time it was set as the cool kids in high school and the show went viral. This season is a time jump of 5 years and picks up where they all are now in their lives. Most likely it will be the last season as season 2 was a long time ago, times have changed, no longer set in high school, and most of the cast got very popular and moved on to movies and other projects.

In the Netflix series, there were competing mob factions. One of them was Asian and they operated from the ports to smuggle weapons and drugs. The show could move on from the Kingpin to Asian mobs and that might be the storyline to bring in ninjas etc. We’ll see

When I read Miller’s run on the title, it made me wonder “What are ninjas doing on 48th and 10th?”. It was comics and explained that the Kingpin could hire elite assassins. That might not go over well on streaming, but an Asian mob succeeding Fisk it might work that way.

Ep 4 – I passed by a few of the buildings. Now I know why the security guy had me put away my phone when Cox and Bethel stepped out in cloaks that day. It’s one thing to be a spectator at a filming site and then see the finished product on TV.

I hear they are doing season 3 now. I want to know if a few sites are in the area. Addictive.

But it all makes me wonder: Can the show move on from the Kingpin? If so, how? Who would be the main villain?

Bumping this because s5 episodes 1 and 2 came out yesterday

It is still crazy. The satire is so spot on. (I heard it finished production before the election results).
But 5 seasons (six more eps to go), it is a good time to end it.

I still say that Eric Kripke and co., they way they do satire, would be great to bring back Robocop (1987) as a successor to Veerhoven.

I had a thanks to njerry posting… I have always been railing about voter mentality for the longest. The US has been called a “stupid country” and there have been books touching on the sociology of people voting against their best interests, voting to spite others, single issue, ignorance, being fickle, not seeing the bigger picture etc. and then always these questions of “Why can’t the US have some of these cool national programs like in other countries?” (As one book said when it came to things that used to be exclusive only to them, they would rather not have that benefit that would be all inclusive. They would vote against it out of spite just to deprive the rest.)

Some of the MAGA voters are regretting their decisions only because it’s starting to affect their bottom line. They really voted for others to be the target and are upset now that they did not see how interconnected things were. They never expected it, but they ended up voting for their own foreclosure, being let go from work, paying more overall (gas, groceries). Some ended up voting for their own deportation. It’s all a mess.

So George Perez based some Titans characters off of some celebs. The same with Byrne and now I find this out:

As for Claremont, he based the Hellfire Club off of an episode of “The Avengers” and “Days of Future Past” off of “Day of the Daleks”.

Now his first wife worked with him at Marvel and she was Wiccan and even had a store in the West Village back in the 70s  and it showed in some of his X men writings.

It will get better. I’ve seen the trailers of who is coming later on. I was outside the church were they filmed an episode. Charlie Cox was right in front of me and the security guy told me no pics of him. I did get Wilson Bethel (Bullseye) though.

Production wise, not entirely but it feels like Netflix but with Disney budget. Makes me wonder how much more the Netflix seasons would have been.

As for the Kingpin NYC regime and the Anti Vigilante Task Force, it is such thinly veiled social/politcal commentary, reminiscent of… but I can’t quite put my finger on it 🤣🤣🤣

Doesn’t matter; Rubio’s as much a racist as Hegseth and Trump.

True, and I have friends in Miami who can testify to that. A little more on this Latin divide:
    https://extremearturo.substack.com/p/the-racism-behind-the-cuban-hardliner

Latinos or Hispanics the likes of a Rubio, Salazar, etc. feel that they can blend in with MAGA and even overall society in general. (Tbh, it’s been said that they want to be accepted/adopted etc. as white like the Irish and Italians.) But remarks like what Hegseth said is a reminder that he does not consider Rubio and those Latinos as equals.

A few days ago was a small instance at this Summit meeting. There were Spanish leaders and Marco Rubio spoke Spanish to them and then turned the podium to 47 and Hesgeth. Hesgeth started with “I only speak American”.

It may have been a backhanded slight in that he only recognizes monolingual English speaking as true Americans, implying that he doesn’t care for bilingual Spanish speakers as real authentic Americans. Makes me wonder what was running through Rubio’s mind.

It was an educational show about music (lead and bass guitar, drums, keyboards) that played originally on the BBC and when PBS aired it in the States, they put in Herbie Hancock as host with brief introductions.

(There were two small segments that were cut because of copyright laws)

Each episode described the different styles and techniques on playing rock, heavy metal, reggae, r&b,funk, synth…

I passed by a friend’s house and she was watching the JFK Jr. story on Netflix. Looking back at that time, he gave a speech at the Dem National Convention and got noticed by everyone as “all grown up”. He was followed by media and was practically a prince of NYC. But it was 27 year ago, 1999. Makes me wonder if he would have been a Dem candidate about now had they never got on that plane.

As for a long time ago: This year’s 9/11 observation will be 25 years. Someone 30 years old now was 5 at the time. Sometimes it’s hard to see events as being that long ago.

This verdict just might set a tone for these gun culture families.

Now that Paramount has WB, this is what it means. Also, story has it that the Ellisons want to combine HBO Max and Paramount+ :

Here’s some good words, Alfred: next week’s NYC snowstorm that was threatening to dump 13-15 inches on our poor town has now been reduced to a mostly-rain event, with less than an inch of snow.

As it turned out, NY never got that huge snowstorm, just rain. So… daylight savings time starts this Sunday and will run through November. And Spring starts about 18 days from now.

I saw a pic of Kelly Osbourne at some award show. I remember her from the Osborne show in the 2000s.

FWIW, there is video and pictures online of Middle Eastern countries and areas back in the 50s to the early 70s. Countries like Iran, Iraq, Beirut, Afghanistan, and Palestine before these extreme destabilizations. Incredible how modernized they all were before and seeing them all now in the news the past decades.

I saw an interesting meme that said that the US might go to war with Iran to get the same deal they had under Obama that 47 tore up.

Story has it that Sony at one time had it’s chance to buy up all the Marvel movie property rights, but only went for Spiderman as it was all they knew, and thought little of the rest.

Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

I don’t get it. On all the browsers, I get no pics. On the phone, the pics are there from (I guess) the cache. I might have to get into DNS stuff or just wait a few more days. I get postings that other people have the same thing.

Good to know about the NY snow downgrade.

When I post pics in the thread, they got more and more about political and social commentary soundbites because of the times are so downbeat. I turned to the diagrams and schematics. Then imgbb died on me. It’ll come back eventually. I’ll put in a few more, then some DC schema. But I just got the fatigue of politics. Tiring and painful.

    imgbb is dead

I am sofa king tired of the news feeds about 47, files, war of words online.
What’s the good word if there is any?

Imagine getting into a STEM major like coding/comp.sci and working for this tech company and they lay off almost half of the staff. No one is safe. 20 week severance though…

It was bad in NYC on Sunday, but the temp was over 40F, so the snow is melting.

This is some fight between Netflix and Paramount over all that WB content including DC.
But which of the two can do the DC movies justice?

Well, it’s gotten cooler today. We’ll have a high in the 60s.

You poor soul you. So jealous

Now this NE snowstorm is scheduled to start around 6 tonight in NYC and carry over to tomorrow. Closings already with schools, doctor’s appointments. Supermarkets packed, Trader Joe’s, Costco’s etc. Fun times…
