Probably not of interest to the greater part of society, but I just came home after a pretty intense cycle of recording and touring and as usual I’m happy to have some privacy and to be with my cat and me myself and I. On the other hand, the very same day I get home, finally get to do some proper laundry, chill out on the couch and do dick all, I’m starting to get itchy and want to get back on the road again. It’s a vicious circle this life. Good!

The guy broke into comics at the age of 14. That’s insane. As is his legacy. Like Martin said: No Shooter, no more Marvel.

I wouldn’t have wanted to work under Jim Shooter, but his influence can’t be overestimated, for better or worse.

Buddy of mine saw it yesterday and said it was terrible, but he’s got no taste so I’m looking forward to this even more. Whenever I hear those lines from ‘Boots’ in the trailer it gives me the chills!

I shall add my sombre musings to this Choir of Quiet.

Are you still in Cologne? I’m currently on tour with my band and play Bochum tomorrow, together with Carcass and Walls of Jericho. Talk about yelling, haha.

Ah, the old hooker-killing habit. Yeah, it’s hard to kick, I suppose. Seriously though, it’s good to read so many familiar names. Truly warms my heart!

Feels good to be back after all those years only to get yelled at, Christian! What did I miss?

I remember when Drew Edwards and I helped him out with some “cool” pseudo-occult sigil stuff and dialogue for an issue of Ultimate X-Men a long time ago, were promised credits and what not and got, of course, nothing. Whatever, water under the bridge. As a writer, I’ve always found him wanting, although I understand why he was so popular in his prime. I also think Mark always mistook commercial success for relevance. But that’s okay. Go, smash the shackles of Cancel Culture that bind you, hero.

Ah, remember when the truth was fake in this good old-fashioned, kinda cozy way everyone could make sense of, not in a way that transcends reality and the very concept of fake at the same time? Yeah, those were the days.

Also, hello all. Long time no see.

I learned of Miqque’s passing when I googled him, because I was wondering what he was up to, and landed on this thread. Terrible, terrible news! He used to give me a good-natured ribbing on MW when we talked about music. Miqque always had some choice words for me, whenever I went off on stuff he considered noise, while I made fun of his grampa tastes. We decided to start a band to settle this once and for all, which we never did, of course. It was good fun. I’m sad as I’m writing this. At the same time, the memories put a smile on my face. Miqque, you golden hearted mountain man, you giant among mere tall guys, you crazy old rocker – wherever you’ve gone, that place will never be lacking in Rock’n’Roll.
