    Reacher Season 2

I was a big fan of season one.  I like how Reacher just comes in to a small town and wreak havoc with his no nonsense attitude. The cast and their chemistry was also really good. Season two is no different but on a bigger scale. I’m really enjoying watching season 2 right now. I hope it finishes with a bang.

The Jets take on the Chiefs next week.

We were lucky to squeak out a win on this one. The Jets defense is really good. The Chiefs are currently 4-1 after beating the Vikings.  Onto Thursday night against the Broncos.

hat injury to Rodgers has brought back the arguing to use natural grass on all NFL fields.

Yes, yes they have. Though, I’ve only started watching the NFL in 2017-2018 so not really sure when they started using artificial grass.

Loki season 2 episode 1 was okay. Some fun stuff here and there. I actually enjoyed the first season of Loki more than Wandavision. Maybe its because it’s a villain trying to find redemption in being a hero rather than a hero slowly becoming a villain. I don’t know. It’s weird. Though, there was a scene in the first season that seemed really cynical to me. It was when Loki finds infinity stones inside the desk drawer of that one TVA employee and he says that they find one of those all the time and they use it for paper weight which I took to mean that no matter how hard they fought and died to save the world, it was still insignificant to the greater universe.

I enjoyed Ahsoka. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible either. The action was a little clunky though. There’s always room for improvement for season 2, I guess.

  • #112448

Yeah, I still enjoy Only Murders as the lead performances are so good that it’s never less than entertaining, and this season’s guest cast is pretty decent too.

Agreed. The leads are really good and play off each other really well. I’m interested to see the next episode though after watching episode 7.

  • #112447

Yeah, it’s got a different vibe to when it started, but I think that’s inevitable.

Yeah. I guess it is inevitable. That cameo was also fun as well.

  • #112340

Anyone here currently watching Only Murders in the Building? I’ve been watching the new season. Still stuck at the 6th episode. I’m enjoying it currently, not as much as the first season though.

Chiefs lost to Detroit but as for the rest of it all… Sunday Sept 10.

All those drops killed us. No Travis Kelce and No Chris Jones.  But it’s a long season. Running it back.

I finally finished Wednesday a few weeks ago.  It was great. The story was good. It had a good mystery. The cast was great too. There were a lot of young talent that shined on the show. I was a little iffy on the romance stuff but it was scarce enough that it didn’t really bother me. I know that the show is set in a high school so that’s going to be part of the story.  I’m also slowly watching Lockwood and Co. and Suits. I’m probably going to finish Suits first. Both series are good. I’m enjoying it for the most part.

I’m still need to get around to watching Peripheral. I’m also looking forward to Reacher season 2. I enjoyed the first season and the second season is probably going to be good (hopefully).

Flash looks good judging from the trailer. There’s a lot of running which is good. It was clear that recasting Ezra Miller was never an option for them since he plays two or three characters in the movie.  All the weird running aside though, it’s nice to see Keaton as Batman again.  It’s nice to see Batfleck as well. Wonder what kind of reception this Flash movie will get given all the baggage it has been carrying due to the issues of its lead actor.

    Oh I’m sure that’s what we’re getting… they’re gonna MCU-fy that bitch like there’s no tomorrow…

HAHA they probably are. Hopefully it’ll be different than what the MCU has done in the past.

they want to erase the “snyderverse”

Yup, I think that’s what all these changes are for. I agree.

But also, Kingdom Come is “dark”, isn’t that what everyone was bitching about with the Snyderverse?

Good point. Maybe them doing a no way home version of their own may be more of a possibility.

  • #104402

As sad as I am that Cavill won’t be reprising his role as Superman, I think this may be a good move for them. I think they want to step away as far as they can from the Snyderverse. Yes, it had its fans but it was divisive as hell. They needed a fresh start. They should just release the flash movie as a straight to DVD movie. I’m not sure anyone’s going to watch it at this point. Let’s just hope that whatever Gunn and Safran has planned would be a DC universe we could all enjoy.

It would be very interesting if everyone’s all fired up about the news of Cavill’s departure and then they make a Kingdom Come movie and cast him as its Superman.

The movie was enjoyable. Was lucky enough to see it on opening night here in my area. Not that much of a fan of Namor. I do know that he’s the first mutant. When he mentioned that he was a mutant was nice. I guess his background and origin were different but his character was close to the comics. Namor is kind of an a-hole from what I’ve heard of his character and I did kind of got that vibe from him. Riri was good though not that familiar with her character from the comics. Would’ve been cool to have Bucky help out Wakanda in this movie since he owes them a lot but after Falcon and Winter Soldier, there was no chance of him making an appearance. Overall, the movie was good. It did get a reaction in my theater so I guess that’s something.

Agreed. Hopefully this would allow DC to fast track a new man of steel movie. But yeah, it’s going to be hard act to follow.

The Witcher season 4 coming to Netflix, but without Henry Cavill

Cavill was the show’s biggest draw. Superman obligations may have been a factor to him leaving. But I’ve heard that there was an interview with someone from the show before (a writer I think) wherein allegedly the writers and producers hate the books and the games which the show is based on. Cavill has been particular with being faithful to the source material. So, them choosing to stray from the source material may have been another factor to him departing from the show. In any case, that show just took a big hit and I’m not sure they’re going to get past 4 seasons after this departure.

Creed 3 looks exciting. Should be a good finale for the Creed franchise. I was a fan of the first 2 movies. They were really good boxing movies. Killmonger vs Kang should make a good bout for the 3rd movie.

I’m glad we have Cavill back. I thought he was great as Superman but wasn’t given nearly enough good material to be the Superman that’s recognizable to comic fans. There was a lot of scowling and overall “I don’t want to do this” vibe from his Superman in BvS which was entirely because of how Superman was written. He did mention that he was excited to play an enormously joyful Superman. I think that’s a step in the right direction. We can move forward from the Snyderverse. Heck, he’s working with Matt Vaughn for Argylle. Maybe they can team up again for Superman. Man of Steel 2: Electric Bluegaloo?

Only the first episode so far, and it was pretty great. Not another Guy Ritchie rip-off.

Yup. Speaking of Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen is currently on Netflix. I’m going to check it out again. I really enjoyed that movie. Probably one of his best yet.

Sounds good! This is on Sky or something, right? I’ll have to see if it’s available on my current Sky subscription over here…

Yup. It’s on Sky. Had to watch it by other means here from where I’m from though. But yeah, you should definitely check it out.

Anyone here watching Gangs of London? It’s a really good, action-packed, gangster series from the director of the raid movies. The story is good and the action is top-notch. You guys should check it out. Season two is coming soon.

I’m probably going to but it typically has about a few months wait depending on its availability on their main branch. I do have friend of the devil. So I’m waiting to buy the first Reckless book so I can read it.  Still missing a few books for my Brubaker/Philips collection.

I’ve almost completed my Sandman trades. Just need volumes 11 and 12 to complete it then try and read everything by Christmas. Still actively waiting for the first volume of Reckless and volumes of Fatale to be available at my local bookstore.

  • #99166

But sadly, it’s been cancelled for a while, so the chances of it being ressurrected are probably close to zero

    Well, that’s just disappointing.

I think Warrior could’ve had a chance but it was on Cinemax, or whatever channel it was, first… it was never a proper HBO show, even though it should’ve been, so it never got the exposure it needed

Warrior was a great show. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s sad that not a lot of people talk about it.  Hopefully it gets another season.

The new episode was okay.  I mean, glad Wong got a new friend and possibly drinking buddy. And with a new information that DD will be flossing in his cameo, if that doesn’t happen, I will be disappointed.

The first few episodes were okay. At this point, I’m just waiting for Daredevil to show up.

    Hey Christian,

I didn’t expect them to have a shorter episode count this season. Though if 8 episodes was all that was needed for them to tell the story, then I’m all for it. I planning to re-watch the last episode. I feel like I might’ve missed a couple of things.

This film looks really good. Haven’t read the book but this makes me want to read it.

I hope Cavill does come back. I liked him as superman. I think he did a good job given the circumstances and how superman was characterized in the DC movies. This is coming from a guy who loved man of steel but recently read all-start superman and is now thinking that maybe they could’ve done things a little better.

    Hello,

Took me a while to get here from being lost after Millarworld forum ended a few years ago. But here I am.

Watching a few things. Just finished the new season of Westworld, saw Top Gun Maverick and loved it, saw  the Reacher series and enjoyed it. It’s been good. Watched the new season of Stranger things as well.
