Judge Dredd: And to the Sea Return
A collection of two stories.
The title arc is a creepy horror tale of mind control and possession, with the long legacy of Chaos Day and more recent stories casting shadows. It’s less Dredd, who is pretty much Dredd throughout, and more the other doomed Judges we meet. Williams also weaves a neat riff on history’s tendency to repeat.
The second story is set after The End of Days and sees Buratino’s creations hunting him down, having deemed him a traitor. The larger story is an examination of The Apocalypse War and its legacy, with the final scene between Dredd and Izaaks being especially effective.
Across both stories Flint is on art, doing what does very, very well. He can, and does, draw anything and everything Williams throws at him. Page after page of excellent visuals
