I went to see it last night with my son and 5 of his friends for his birthday.

It was fun, but I agree with some of the comments above. It is pretty disjointed, there are several characters that appear and do absolutely nothing worthwhile, the emperor is a bit of a pantomime villain here, though I guess he always was and Rey’s ultimate parentage felt a bit forced.

For me it falls firmly in the middle of the pack of star wars movies. Not great, not terrible.

I actually quite liked Ben and Rey’s journey together,a for me that was one of the most satisfactory parts. Leia’s journey got a fitting end, and Poe came into his own finally as , a characterwhich was good to see.

For me this entire trilogy has really been ruined by the last Jedi, or perhaps rather by the lack of a singular vision and aim across the three movies. As a result, what Dave says is true, this feels like a push and pull fight between two directors with totally different ideas of where to take the franchise. If both book end films had also been Johnson, or the middle.film had also been JJs, then I think we could have ended up with a more satisfying series of films overall. Instead they just don’t make sense together.

I thought X-Men 3 was pretty good. Things are definitely moving at a Hickman like glacial pace, hut you kind of accept that coming in.

New mutants 2 was better than 1 and I may stick around for the whole first arc depending on issue 3.

I thi k Marauder’s is actually my favourite book so far. X-force is just abive average enough for me to keep buying it, as is fallen angels (and I agree that one has a remender x-force vibe going

As with everyone else here, I agree Excalibur is the weakest link. It’s genuinely totally unengaging dross. I didn’t even pick up the third issue. Unless I hear amazing things it is dropped.

Reviews for Jedi Fallen Order are in. Mostly positive, with some complaints about repetitiveness toward the end.
Definitely think I’ll be giving it a look.

My issue is that I’m a completist who only plays one game at a time. I have to finish the one I’m on completely before I start the next. like every riddle in Arkham, every chest and monster nest in Witcher 3, every side quest in Mass effect or dragon age.
With so little gaming time these days, really big open world games become hard to manage. Witcher 3 was just cripplingly huge. Took me more than a year.
So I have to be a bit choosy about what I take on.

Hmm. I was thinking about getting outer world’s, but in think it may not be for me. Sounds like it is pretty far on the open world end of things if it is like fallout, and I never really took to those games. The story was never engaging enough.

New Mutants was definitely the weakest of the number ones for me so far as well. Just didn’t really feel like there was much substance there.

So Batman was interesting. After so much build up, the confrontation with Bane was a bit underwhelming.
The quasi twist at the end has promise, and I think points to what this has really been all about. Contrasting the two batmen and the different paths they have taken to dealing with their loss and their mission.
I think as a whole this run has been amazing and in trade will read well, but as a monthly it has been painfully decompressed.

Is there a way to go to my last read post in a thread when I open it, or do I have to always scroll down to find it. If the latter we may need to reset threads more often than we were.

So. Taskmaster drone challenges in Spiderman. They’re pretty difficult aren’t they. Ive been hammering away at this one for hours and still can’t get gold. The controls are just not precise enough.
