“Batgirl,” the feature film adaptation of the DC Comics character, has been killed at Warner Bros., Variety has confirmed. It will not premiere on any platform at the studio — neither theatrically nor on HBO Max.
The $90 million production — starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) and directed by “Bad Boys for Life” and “Ms. Marvel” filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah — was greenlit in 2021 as part of a company-wide effort at Warner Bros. to create feature films specifically for HBO Max. But the new corporate regime at Warner Bros. Discovery has pivoted the company’s priorities back to theatrical features, leaving “Batgirl” without a proper home.

Not yet, Kurtzman mentioned during the panel two new shows being worked on. Some speculation is that those could be S31 and Starfleet Academy.
Last time Meyers spoke about the Khan project, he said that they were working to make it an audio play:
As a guest on the latest episode of Page One: The Writer’s Podcast, Nicholas Meyer was asked about the project. He replied, “That will be a podcast,” and when the host laughed, Meyer revealed he was serious:
It is. I’m not joking… I am concluding a deal to turn it into a podcast which I will write and presumably direct. And if the podcast is a hit, then maybe we’ll revisit it on film of some kind.
Meyer didn’t get into any other details but when asked directly by TrekMovie, he confirmed the project is currently a possibility. On the Page One podcast, Meyer talked about the benefits of audio drama:
I love radio plays… when I was in college, I directed a play a week. Talking on behalf of radio plays, I believe that all great artistic media rely for their success on something that they leave out. Paintings do not move. Music has no intellectual content. Words are merely code on a page. In each of those cases, it is the imaginative contribution of the listener, the reader… When your imagination complements the sounds, which is otherwise just sounds… Film alone has the hideous capacity to do everything for you. We call this eye candy and candy is not good for you. So I look for ways for things to leave out. And radio is a great way for things to leave out. Imagination does not need any training.

The Center Seat release schedule has been a little erratic since last week, yesterday they aired both episodes 3 (Phase 2/TMP) and 4 (Movies II-IV), which covers the four episodes that were going to air in the channel.
In the History Vault streaming they are supposed to have episodes 5 (TNG), 6 (DS9) 7 (VOY), 8 (about ships), and 10 (which is a 1h25, about guest stars and I am guessing it is recycled from an announced but unreleased 2019 documentary, That Guy… Who Was In That Thing 3: Trek Stars), but no 9.

Sensational concepts is good for the fandom like the “crossover” ie. the TARDIS materializes on the (either TOS or TNG) Enterprise bridge. The crossover is a meeting/combining of two iconic characters or shows and so on and so forth.
What if…? is as you know, a show whose concept is gaining some traction. The “alternate reality” etc…
How about What If…? Star Trek style?
What if the Botany Bay stayed around in space and was discovered by Picard and the TNG crew?
What if Picard died as Locutus in the invasion and Riker took over as captain of the Enterprise and Shelby was his #1?
Any comments or more ideas?

Transformers Beast Wars 2 – Now this is more what I expected. I liked the interaction between the Predacons, but not sure about the treatment of the Vok.
James Bond Agent of SPECTRE 1 – Interesting first issue, setting the premise, the inevitable betrayals and referencing one of Ellis’ arcs.
Speaking of Beast Wars reboots, I just found out (yesterday) that the UK reprints by Hachette include a proposal for a third BW series by Furman, Went looking for it and found it online here: https://tmukhub.proboards.com/post/426411/thread
It is something…
Finally read it, it was okay, there were some interesting tidibts and minor changes that may work or not (Rhinox’s tension with Primal), the art style is not to my liking but I may get used to it.
As Lorcan says, yeah, it is the best BW comic by far, Furman’s two miniseries were OVERLOADED with every character from the toyline that didn’t make it into the series, and the rest of the comics produced by the convention people are fanwank of the highest caliber. Heh, I used to torture Lorcan with tidbits from Dawn of the Predacus, which IDW finally reprinted last year as part of the Transformers 100-Page Giant: Power of the Predacons (I hope IDW finally releases The Gathering and The Ascending in comixology).
Mmm, but at least, say, Furman’s initial G1 style comic for IDW and the current reboot are distinct reinterpretations of the concept. This is just straight up “the cartoon with some window dressing and nuance-destroying foreknowledge”.
To clarify, I was refering to the entire franchise and not just the comics. Between the comics, the Netflix series, etc I am REALLY tired of the rise of Optimus and Megatron.
I will be reading it later today, I am curious but I would have prefered a new story in the BW/BM world, not a retelling… but that’s the norm in the Transformers Universe, retellings everywhere (at least it is not G1 again).
Hugh Keays-Byrne (Toecutter/Immortan Joe from Mad Max) has passed away.
Hugh Keays-Byrne, an unsung hero of Aussie cinema, has passed away at age 73. I'm continually floored that he played Toecutter, the central antagonist of 1979's MAD MAX *and* Immortan Joe, the central antagonist 2015's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. Thanks for all the entertainment, sir. pic.twitter.com/55W99w3wzq

So the idea is probably they’re harvesting The Child’s blood to get his fucking midochlorians and they’re using some form of blood transfusion to create force-users. Force-using super soldiers. It’s a pretty cool idea, and it’s nice to finally have a bit of a shape of the overarching plot of the series.
There was a plot in one of the Jedi Knight games that was pretty similar, Jedi Outcast, IIRC they were using crystals that were infused with the Force through another plot device to create “shadowtroopers”.
