We do this every year and it’s always fun.

So, with the proviso that we still have a few weeks to go, what have been your top films of the year?

(You can even go the whole hog and do the decade if you want, although frankly I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast this morning so casting back to 2010 might be beyond me.)

Those twenty year decades are the worst!

Ha, I completely missed that. Edited now.

I never see enough films to make my opinion matter. I really liked US, though.

Edited to add: I also loved THE IRISHMAN.

I enjoyed Knives Out a lot. It was genuinely fun.

I still have a few I want to see that’ll probably, based on reviews, make my Ten (like Little Women), but for now:

    1. The Lighthouse
    2. Parasite
    3. The Farewell
    4. Her Smell
    5. Booksmart
    6. Knives Out
    7. Portrait of a Lady on Fire
    8. The Irishman
    9. Pain and Glory
    10. Us

And my next ten, in no particular order:

    • The Art of Self-Defense
    • Alita: Battle Angel
    • Wild Rose
    • Avengers: Endgame
    • John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
    • Little Woods
    • Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood
    • Hustlers
    • Jojo Rabbit
    • Marriage Story

Also, because my list is open, here’s my rough ranking of all the “blockbuster”-type movies I saw this year:

    1. Avengers: Endgame
    2. Alita: Battle Angel
    3. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
    4. Toy Story 4
    5. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
    6. Shazam!
    7. Charlie’s Angels
    8. Terminator: Dark Fate
    9. Captain Marvel
    10. Gemini Man
    11. Spider-Man: Far from Home
    12. Pokémon Detective Pikachu
    13. Dumbo
    14. Frozen II
    15. Joker
    16. Men in Black: International
    17. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw
    18. It Chapter Two
    19. Dark Phoenix

Not a good year on this list.

Seems a bit premature doing this before Star Wars is out, but as it seems nearly impossible that it will bother the #1 spot I guess it doesn’t matter:

    1. Dora and the Lost City of Gold
    2.  Avengers: Endgame
    3.  Alita: Battle Angel
    4.  Spider-Man: Far From Home
    5.  Captain Marvel

    I think that’s all I’ve seen

    3. The Farewell
    4. Her Smell

Well, damn. I’m rather late to this thread but here we go. Since Paul dropped a top twenty, I’ll throw mine out (all taken from the list that I fill in as I go, ranking each new movie I see against the others shortly after my first watch, so I guess that if I was to see something again or draw the list up from scratch, things could be different.

Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood

    Marriage Story

    Avengers: Endgame

    Dragon Ball Super: Broly

    First Love

    Promare

    Diego Maradona

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

    Glass

    Us

    Burning

    Knives Out

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

    Motherless Brooklyn

    Le Mans ’66

    Yesterday

    Detective Pikachu

    Dragged Across Concrete

    Parasite

    Toy Story 4
