The premise: A succubus taking the form of a home health aide preys on the lonely son of her elderly charge.

So far, the only title idea I’ve got is Don’t Get Too Personal.

I wonder about the importance of a book title to its success. Think about TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and CATCHER IN THE RYE. Both books were major successes despite their title being a reference to a small anecdote within the story rather than a reference to the main storyline or concept of the book.

What is the measure of success here? That the writer is content with the work? That it sells good?

I think it is important as an interesting and/or clever title can catch the eye and provide an opportunity for a prospective reader to see what it’s about.

I was referring to the critical and popular success of those books, which continue to be listed among the “best” books of the 20th Century.

Going by that, I came up with another title:

    She’s Good For You

    The Whippoorwill

It is vowed that the birds are psychopomps lying in wait for the souls of the dying, and that they time their eerie cries in unison with the sufferer’s struggling breath If they can catch the fleeing soul when it leaves the body, they instantly flutter away chittering in daemonic laughter; but if they fail, they subside gradually into a disappointed silence.

Another premise I’m trying to think of a title for:

A fallen superhero’s grieving parents meet a single mother whose child may be his.
