There’s a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode with basically this plot.
Chopping boards instead of plates.
One of the most frustrating restaurants I’ve been to is Bill’s in Cheltenham (I’m fairly sure it’s a chain). The tables were dominated by these massive, low-hanging light fixtures that blocked the view of the people opposite you on the table. Despite this, they were throwing out next to no light at all. I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu. Then the food came on just wooden chopping boards with a sheet of greaseproof paper underneath. Trying to eat anything off it was horrendous, any viscous element was immediately dripping off the sides onto the table, which of course, you could barely see. I ended up asking for a plate and the waitress obliged but seemed genuinely surprised.
We Want Plates has you all covered.

When Mark, Aoife and I went to see The Martian in the cinema, she overheard two people behind us trying to figure out of it was based on a true story.

While that is also quite funny, The Martian being based on a true story is about ten thousand percent more likely than Swiss Army Man being based on anything even near reality.

Conor Mcgregor has long hair now?
That was just all kinds of awesome, and gets better the longer it sinks in.
Seriously, the rest of you need to scroll back up and “Thank” that post (Star Wars from @totallynotanders) or there is something wrong with the world.
Not bad for 20 shillings (1 new pound)
Wow, East of Eden! There’s a name you never hear these days. Even my bible of progressive rock history doesn’t mention them.
Funny how some things catch on and others don’t. This was every bit as good as Pink Floyd in 1969:
A bit niche, but those who get it will get it…

Bearea?
Diarrhea, but with fur and teeth and claws.
You can do that comparison with pretty much any villain: Hitler was an environmentalist and the holocaust was a hyper violent form of identity politics.
Brendan O’Neil is a loathsome character. He actually said the people that were molested by Jimmy Savile should keep their mouths shut. That is an incredible depth to sink to. It’s an oddity, his wiki says he used to be part of some communist party offshoot.
In case it needs clarification, I am no fan of Spiked or Brendan O’Neil and posted this just to mock the stupidity.
A friend of mine “accidentally” used DALL-E to make a Star Wars story featuring CG, the king of Sweden.
He calls it “How CG betrays his golf buddy and goes on a journey of personal growth”
I’m going to split it up in a few posts after the forum ate the one I tried posting first.
I wonder what percentage of Dall-E images are being used to create sexual scenarios.
@arjandirkse That was funny. It reminded me of some tweets of a picture that had Kanye fans saying that Kanye was so generous giving this old man a chance at music. His name was Paul McCartney. 🤣
