I think they should be able to squeeze a couple of good movies out of that.

Dies as he lived, eh?
I think they should be able to squeeze a couple of good movies out of that.
Jon MacAfee’s life will make a hell of a Netflix series someday soon. It’s just completely mindboggling.
Dies as he lived, eh?
Well no, he’s dead.
Donald Rumsfeld dies at 88. The former defense secretary oversaw Iraq, Afghanistan wars
Goodnight sweet prince
Did Dick Cheney shoot him?
People die, happens every day
People lose elections all the time too, but that doesn’t stop the conspiracists from having a field day…and Cheney has a history of shooting his associates.
It is good( ) to know that his family will be taken care of by the generous kickbacks he received from Haliburton, Blackwater, and other such organizations. HA!
Good fucking riddance.
Richard Donner dies at 91: https://deadline.com/2021/07/richard-donner-dead-superman-lethal-weapon-director-1234786372/
What a career.
Although it probably won’t be mentioned in many obituaries in amongst all the other gems, Scrooged is the movie of his that I’ve gone back to most often, to the extent that it’s become a regular and essential part of our Christmas celebrations each year.
Lethal Weapon also holds up nicely. RIP to a pretty much always dependable filmmaking legend.

Ah, shame. I saw Jackie Mason in Vegas years ago and he was great.
Ah, shame. I saw Jackie Mason in Vegas years ago and he was great.
Sadly, too many people know Jackie Mason as the guy who took Rodney Dangerfield’s place in Caddyshack 2. He was a funny stand-up comedian who was a head above most of the other Borscht Belt comics of the 1960s/70s.

Sad news; I was never a huge fan, but I enjoyed listening to their music. LA GRANGE is one of the favorites on my running list.

German talkshow host Alfred Biolek has died. He was maybe THE German TV stalwart for many, many years and also the first one to have a cooking show on TV over here (from like the seventies to the nineties). None of which matters to you guys, obviously, but I wanted to mention him because he also did one wonderful thing: He became aware of the Monty Pythons before anyone else over here did and introduced them to the German audience most – most wonderfully, he got them to come here in 1971 and produce two episodes of a German version of the Flying Circus, Der Fliegende Zirkus. Which used some of the English sketches, but also original material. The Pythons’ writing was translated to German and then they performed it in German, using phonetic transcriptions. I’m assuming that this is Pythons material that none of you have seen before, so, you know, enjoy.

You didn’t all know her but she was awesome. I certainly wouldn’t be here without her. My mum.
Here’s a picture of the two of us, some 40 odd years ago.
She left us this morning, after a long battle with the big C, that some of you may remember from the Millarworld boards.
She was in a lot of pain over the last year or so, and the bloody virus robbed us of our time together. But, she’s at peace now. Finally.
I lost my mom this year too Vikram. It was a huge hole in my life but I worked thru it. I hope you are dealing with it ok. if you need anything send me a msg.

The England native, who worked with acts like Joe Satriani, Carlos Santana, Bob Dylan, Mountain and Peter Frampton, was digging a grave for his family’s dog when the unspecified accident occurred, his wife of 34 years, Julia Dreyer Brigden, told The Press Democrat. Following the accident, Brigden, 73, was taken to the hospital where he passed away.
Ironically, he lived in Santa Rosa, California where it is against state law to bury your pet on your property.
Oh, fuck. Norm McDonald was incredible. He was my favorite comedian since I found out about him a couple of years ago. Bloody amazing.

Jane Powell Dies: Hollywood Golden Age Actress & ‘Royal Wedding’ Star Was 92
Richard H Kirk from Cabaret Voltaire died. Basically every band I like was influenced by Kirk’s work, or is a contemporary of him.
I did not see any of it but why are you harshing on Mozzie? He was one of the greatest characters of his time! that movie you referenced is 50 years old and Watermelon Man was much more significant anyways.
I did not see any of it but why are you harshing on Mozzie?
I am in no way harshing on Mozzie. His SITC character was always a breath of fresh air every time he appeared on-screen, and he deserves the accolades and coverage he got following his untimely death.
In the larger scheme of things, Melvin Van Peebles had a bigger impact in the entertainment world by being the vanguard of an entire genre of cinema and for breaking the color barrier for directing and screenwriting. Unfortunately, his contribution to the industry was not acknowledged as it should have been, not even a mention of his death in the evening news. And that’s sad.
