I don’t know, I feel like its equally consistent to have people be allowed to post pretty much whatever images they want (within reason), but for it to be fair for others to respond as they see fit too.
My point about context is really that each image is different and has a different intention behind it. Personally I don’t mind a risqué image if there’s a funny gag at the heart of it or a point being made.
I’m a bit more indifferent to pics that are posted just because the person looks attractive. It’s easy to find plenty of that on the internet, but it’s the more original and funny/clever/interesting stuff in this thread that I most enjoy.
Fair enough… within reason.

Now about “being cool” at someone else’s expense:
Some of you may not have seen this “game”, so it might go over your head. Anyway…
What you do is get someone you know who is nerdy, sloppy, lacks social graces, etc. and invite them with you to a group setting. Then you try to contrast yourself off them by dressing better, commenting better, subtly belittling them, and even “correcting” them. Usually this is done to impress others (especially guys to impress a girl).
One time this happened, I noticed it and called out the guy who tried to make a scene (I swear I was going to deck him then and there), and he backed off.
I see it on social media too, where someone shadows some other member, making comments or videos to appear better.
Thing is, you impress others on your own merits, you don’t use someone else like that.
On a side note, always notice if it is being done to you, either with a subtle remark in front of others and that sort of thing…

We always had cosplay pics from SDCC and even Millar himself started a secret crush picture thread and everybody posted booty pictures.
A) There’s more to cosplay than just women in titillating outfits. If we did have a cosplay thread and you posted solid blocks of your wank-bank in it same as here and in other threads, you’d be getting the same response.
B) Millar isn’t here and is hardly a gold standard of social decorum.

I like you, you’re a bit unusual sometimes but so am I. You don’t have to change to conform to other people’s opinions, people have different things they think and do and within certain limits that’s fine. You’re alright. There’s just some people who don’t like you posting boobies. So you can keep doing it and maybe someone will say something occasionally or you can stop doing it.

Now… to be consistent, you would have to complain about every risque pic posted and their innuendo. And you would have to set rules to neuter everything here making it very generic and G rated.
Al, distinctions have been posted above about sexy or risque photos that have a humorous content and are posted primarily for that humorous content. There is a significant difference between such pictures and pictures of well-endowed females (or males) posted for the sake of titillation or “apprecation of the form”. You stated that you posted the art of Stanley Lau aka Artgerm because you admire his talent, but the primary common factor in all those initial posts was women with curves and ample boobs. Would you agree with that statement? Only after you were called out on it did you then post images of Spider-Man and other males.
You can continue to defend your choices by making subtle accusations about double standards, or you can reflect on the kind of pictures you post and why some of those pictures get a negative reaction. I don’t think anyone has complained about your Star Trek spacecraft images, or scenes from Twilight Zone, or a photo of Carol Danvers in the context of a funny comment about Nick Fury’s idea of an emergency. No one is looking for neutered generic or G rated images; just for some deeper context than “this chick has big tits”.

Yes I would. I was more into the artwork. I actually put in the link for others to see about twenty more. I should have put in the guys like Thor and Spider man first.

No they haven’t. When I was posting all those ships and other pics, I didn’t count or keep track of how many women pictures or expect all this reaction. Deeper content it will be…
I went back to the Trek thread and I saw what apparently started it all: a cosplay pic of 4 women at the convention. That pic was a little too much now that I look back. This is not the old days of MW… Hey… I will leave it all alone if this hounding stops.

She’s an internet wierdo known for running a YouTube channel about psychology, getting banned from a knitting site, and having some very strange ideas about spirituality, most notably that when the soul enters the body, it knows the fate of that life and chooses to accepts whatever happens. The initial video is one of the many PragerU ones where they get someone who was never particularly left-wing to say “well I was all in favour of gay rights until I saw something on the news and now I’m a conservative”

A little tolerance, maybe, Anders? I found that particular photo-pair humorous and did not think it was sexist. Instead, I saw it as a comment specifically about Arnold’s lifestyle and how it impacts the son raised in this house, versus the son who was NOT raised under Schwarzenegger’s exercise/bodybuilding regimen. It could just as easily been a comparison of Arnold’s son versus a boy raised by Danny DeVito, and would still be humorous.

We had two mods who always said what they meant and meant what they said. One actually enlisted immediately on 9/11 and saw combat. The other also saw combat, and last time I checked, is into weights and Krav Maga. They have real courage, not keyboard courage and that is what I am currently going for.

I don’t really say anything as a mod, and I don’t think anyone wants to be heavy-handed with the modding here.
My modding duties mainly extend to closing and restarting threads.
Although maybe that would be a useful thing right now. What do you think, fresh start everyone?
