Al – if the pics are online can you use the ‘instert/edit image’ button and just pate the image address there? We should only really need to use the ‘attach’ function for files on your own computer only.
It actually looks nicer and as Martin says it saves us server space.

If you click on the insert-image button (the little square picture of mountains in the control panel) it will open a small pop-up window that lets you paste in the URL of the image you want to link to, in the “source” field. The image should then appear in your post when you press “ok”.

I mean Google Photos is not getting through.
Bear in mind if you are just sharing a picture on another website you don’t need an image host. On Chrome you just right click and ‘copy image address’ – the same function exists in the other browsers with slightly different wording.
You then just click the Insert/Edit Image button and paste the address.
Here’s one of your earlier memes I Googled and am just hotlinking direct to Reddit, no need to attach, no image host used, just pasting the original image address.
A few years ago hotlinking was sometimes frowned upon because ISPs charged for traffic, Nail Gaiman once cost a guy $2000 because he linked to an image on his little blog site and drove his traffic through the roof. They don’t use that charging method any more and charge for storage instead so it’s fine now.

Unless you’re using Amazon Web Services for storage.
Edit: In the interests of fairness I should say that you only pay if your combined views exceed 100GB per month, which realistically isn’t ever going to happen in the Carrier even with the number of images Al posts
