Everybody’s weird is my favourite dEUS song.
It’s a great song.
A fun, short documentary about Yello and their song, “Oh Yeah”.
This month’s blog.
Goth, industrial/psytrance, metal, post rock, garage and other bits and bobs.
Wow. I’ve fallen way behind with this.
Let’s have the best shoegaze album of all time then.
Ok. Here’s the best post rock album of all time.
Yer a tough crowd. Ok then. Here’s the best Irish album of all time.
Nearly there folks.
Here’s the best two ep / mini album compilation to ever come out of Larne, Northern Ireland.

Just out of curiosity, Uncle: what other two ep/mini album compilations out of Larne, Northern Ireland are there?

Not a clue. 😅
Just figured my hype train was getting a bit silly.

Thanks.👍🏻
The best live album of all time? Probably. 🤔
Two years after starting this stupid project I’m finally finished.
So here is number one. A band most of the world never heard of, let alone remembers from the 90’s.
Proto post rock / metal. Grunge, alt rock, shoegaze and a dash of doom jazz.
This is the good stuff.
I forgot to post this, earlier in the year I was at Combichrist (they’re regulars to Ireland, this was maybe by 5th or 6th time seeing them), but the main support act was Extize, who I like a lot, it was their first time here and I was more excited to see them. And they did a tour video with a ton of footage and as I was up at the front, I was all over the clips they used from Dublin. They didn’t use any of the point where Rafa, the singer handed me a cowbell to play during the song “Guns, Gasoline and Cowbell” though.

Thank you for your efforts, Uncle. You introduced me to a lot of music I might never have tried otherwise.
My only criticism is that there wasn’t a single Taylor Swift album in the bunch. Not one!!

Shake it off my friend.
I’m Sorry 🙈
(I’m delighted you enjoyed it)
I’ll rather go with the classics:
A good old-fashioned protest song.

So, when do we get Number 0?
So, when do we get Number 0?
Let’s go with Slayer’s reign in blood.
Always good for a chuckle.
Metallica Announces Eight-Show Sphere Residency: “It’s Completely Uncharted Territory” – Hollywood Reporter
The legendary band will become the first metal act to play the high-tech venue since the Sphere opened in 2023.
The rock icons will play eight shows at the venue on October 1 and October 3, October 15 and October 17, October 22 and October 24. Tickets will go on sale on March 6 at 10 a.m. PST.
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory,’” Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”
This month’s blog. As usual, there’s post rock / metal, goth, electronica and some melodic black metal.
I went to YouTube and got a pleasant surprise: YouTube has both seasons of Rock School from the early 80s. It was an educational show about music (lead and bass guitar, drums, keyboards) that played originally on the BBC and when PBS aired it in the States, they put in Herbie Hancock as host with brief introductions.
(There were two small segments that were cut because of copyright laws)
Each episode described the different styles and techniques on playing rock, heavy metal, reggae, r&b,funk, synth…
Bought back some nice memories.
