So, there’s a petition on Change.org to cast Pose star and transgender activist Dominique Jackson as Storm.

She’s 45. A bit too old for the role.

Also, it’s one of the very few juicy roles for black women in these type of movies… maybe just let one of them have it??

I laughed so much when Simmons tweaked a setting and the screen went into colour and Coulson’s internal monologue turned off.  And I kinda saw Souza’s fate coming but it was still a very cool moment.

Iron Man Mk37 “Hammerhead” from Iron Man 3. J.K. Simmons Promises More J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man and MCU Movies

“Well yeah, [I’ll be back as Jameson] that’s the short answer,” Simmons said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show (via THR). “There is a future for J. Jonah Jameson after a several-year hiatus. He showed up very briefly for those who were wise enough to stay through the credits of Far From Home… There is one more JJJ appearance in the can, and from what I’m hearing there’s a plan for yet another. So hopefully JJJ will continue now and forever.”

    Excellent.

    Loved that intro to AoS!

Another great episode and I fooled myself believing something bad had happened (should’ve just remembered he was in the previews…).

But then it does hint at some darker things. I am a little worried with this being the final season.

#throwbackthursday …is that a thing? Well, either way, here’s a throwback to the very first #thor I had done. It was at Marvel Studio’s infancy, directly after Iron Man 1 — I had a meeting the next morning with Kevin Feige to talk about designing a Marvel Cinematic Universe. I was so nerve-racked, I decided to paint my first Thor (which I included in the meeting;). You can see how this very first Thor image still had bits left over from spending 6 years developing the fantasy look of the #godofwar games. but even then, I really thought the Celtic knotting and interweaving shapes were working well, so I was super happy to be able to work those elements into the final #thor #designs for the films:) * * * * #thor #marvel #marvelstudios #hammer #superhero #comicbookmovie # #celtic #design

Seventies episode of AoS was a lot of fun. But man, things are really not going great for the guys.

Mae now has empath powers. Hm. Well, okay, why the hell not. Most interesting thing going on is Simmons.

What’s going on with her and Enoch? Is she not quite remembering what’s happening because she’s lived through it before? Is the thing under her neck helping her or inhibiting? Or is it related to Fitz?

So the Fox movies are starting to show up in the Marvel section of Disney+. Trank’s FF is there now, with several X-Men films and Story’s FF coming later this summer.

I’m a bit surprised— I might have put them on Hulu to avoid confusion. At the very least, put them in a separate sub-category from the MCU films. It’s confusing (and as far as Trank’s FF) reflects poorly on Marvel’s quality control (I know, I know, some would argue Marvel’s done that to themselves a few times).

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #31198

Some of them have already been on Disney+ in the UK since launch, X-Men and FF.

I guess it depends what holdover licensing arrangements with other services are still in place locally.

And yeah, it’s a cool logo, but come on… u_u

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #33837

    What do you mean?
Because it doesnt have the Marvel branding?

  • #33845

Well because the O is clearly meant to be a pentagram, because you know, that’s Hellstrom’s logo in the CBs… But we’re in the Disney age, so no pentagram and Helstrom with one l, because I guess with two it would be too evil for the mouse…

  • #33848

Then why bother giving Hellstrom his own show?

  • #33849

They’ve changed his sister’s name to Ana. Didn’t he used to run around with his shirt off and his hair on fire? They’ve altered that look too.

One reason could be to appeal to fans of say Silence of the Lambs or Mindhunter who might be put off by a blatant hell show.

  • #33853

Didn’t he used to run around with his shirt off and his hair on fire? They’ve altered that look too.

Well to be fair, I wouldn’t expect them to do that in a low budget show, but like JR says: why bother? what’s the point? Well I guess it’s another case of slapping the Marvel brand to gain extra viewers… Sad though, I thought we were over that sort of thing.

  • #33862

Yeah, I am not sure who this is supposed to appeal to… if you’re not going to use the Marvel connection but just going for any supernatural, son-of-devil show, I don’t know if the Hellstrom books are the strongest basis.

  • #33876

It probably should have been cancelled like all the other Marvel TV stuff when the TV remit was folded under Feiges purview. I think it was just far enough along in production to see it as a cost-benefit.

Its got the same ‘doomed to fail’ mood pervading it as did the Punisher and Jessica Jones did when Netflix had already cancelled all the others. Or when Inhumans was … released.

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #33877

On the other hand, supernatural tv shows tend to have weirdly loyal fanbases.

  • #33891

I think it was just far enough along in production to see it as a cost-benefit.

This is the most likely scenario… I honestly didn’t even know it was in developement, or if I did, I completely forgot… It probably went into production more or less at the same time as Cloak & Dagger and the Runaways, but whereas those two made more sense, this kinda doesn’t… but hey, who knows, it might be decent. At least it’s not lit like a CW show, so it’s a good start.

Yeah, that’s true. Supernatural went on forever, and Lucifer did fairly well, too. So maybe they’re doing everything right, who the fuck knows. But judging from that trailer, this one seems kind of empty. By which I mean, there’s nothing about the two main characters that was interesting to me.

Man, Jeph Loeb is a dick:

    loebdaredevil

Madame Gao was one of the few genuinely great features of the Marvel Netflix shows and I would’ve loved to have seen more of her. I actually got to meet Wai Ching Ho while she was doing a play in Cambridge and she was just the sweetest person, she talked to me for a good 5 to 10 minutes after I told her how much I liked her in Daredevil, and she diplomatically indicated that Daredevil was the only one of the three Marvel shows she appeared in that she actually liked. I’m guessing she wasn’t aware of Loeb’s comments at the time.

An extra FU to that guy from me.

EDIT: Also, I don’t know what Blade movies he was watching. Certainly not the ones I saw.

It’s s second hand account of course but if Loeb actually said that, with a Chinese wife and two mixed kids myself, then he can go fuck himself and I’ll never touch anything he does again. Made easier by the fact that most of it when he isn’t working with Tim Sale is shit anyway.

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #34101

Yeah, I’m not ready to believe that ’cause it doesn’t sound true, but then again, these CB folks in charge (hello Geoff Johns) seem to be a bunch of dickwads, so yeah…

  • #34102

It’s a Daredevil actor saying this though, and the Blade reference is so specific and nonsensical that it’d be hard to make up. Maybe there was some miscommunication between Shinkoda and whoever in the writer’s room told him this but I imagine the gist of it is true.

3 users thanked author for this post.
  • #34118

I believe him. I found the original zoom interview. I haven’t watched it all. What also occurred is neither Wai Ching Ho nor Peter Shinkoda were invited to the season 2 premiere. He was upset that she was insulted. The excuse was they were “overlooked.”

I haven’t watched it yet. I am trying to deny that it is actually finished. With the Hockey palooza(4 and 5 games a day) going on, it is tough to carve out enough time to watch the finale plus I have to be in the right mood. I have watched it from the beginning and it is amazing the changes that have happened over the seven years the show has been on. I remember the beginning clear as day with Skye/Daisy/Quake in the van. The early eps were not so good but the rise in quality over the years is incredible.

Nothing to do with being grump… it was just the first in a string of rather mediocre TV shows… although, credit where it’s due, it was the first and it lasted the longest…

Anyways, hope the MCU shows are better, but then it’d be pretty much impossible for them to do worse than all these shows from these past years.
