    For Disney+ :

    Shang-Chi starts tomorrow

Then the Hawkeye series at around Thanksgiving

And then Eternals a few days before Christmas…

    Yay!!!

Been some BR or streaming news on Eternals?

  • #78424

    What is BR?

    As for Eternals, Consider this:

What is Eternals’ exclusive theatrical release window?
Per an official press release from Disney in September, Eternals will have “a minimum 45-day exclusive theatrical release” before hitting Disney+. Of course, the keyword here is “minimum,” so the window could end up being a bit longer depending on how well the film performs at the box office.

When will Eternals be available to stream on Disney+?
If Disney decides to give Eternals the minimum exclusive theatrical release, that would make the film available to stream on Disney+ as soon as Dec. 20. However, it’s unclear if Eternals will be available for all Disney+ subscribers on that date or if it will be available for Premier Access, which is an additional fee subscribers pay for earlier access to Disney+ films than the general subscriber base.

    Thanks.  BR = BluRay.

I could see Disney bringing forward the release so as to fall in Dec, not Jan.

  • #78446

I could certainly see them uploading it for Christmas viewing.

Most likely, the power change is to further connect her to Captain Marvel.

Of course, now her catchphrase “Embiggen!” won’t make any sense.

  • #78457

those weird looking stretchy (?) powers.

You must really hate Mr Fantastic then.

Completely changing her power set is a very drastic move.

Also, I’m still not entirely convinced by the idea that anyone in the MCU would be aware of Captain Marvel enough to be a big fan of her. She was off-world for years thinking she was a Kree. Is out of the public eye during the events of her film and then is off-world again til Endgame, when half the population of the planet is gone. They go to a different planet to kill Thanos, so no-one on Earth will have seen that. She’s seemingly in space during the entirety of the Blip. We’ve seen nothing since then to suggest she’s been active on Earth since the restoration. I don’t quite get how anyone even knows who she is, let alone is a big fan.

Honestly I would actually think it’s because stretching powers always look bad, and we’re talking about a TV show to boot. It’s probably a good idea. Also, hers are, like I said, weird, I don’t know if she stretches or changes size or what, but they’ve always looked kinda weird to me… maybe it’s just the artist

I saw the new trailer for No Way Home before Ghostbusters: Afterlife today and I seriously feel like I’ve seen edited highlights of the first two-thirds of the movie’s plot already. It specifically references something given away in the first full trailer as if it’s an event we’re all familiar with. It’s like they’re serialising the movie through trailers and it’s so unnecessary. All they need to do is say “hey, remember Spider-Man? We’re making another!” FFS.

Speaking of Spider-man, I forgot, but the other day I watched Venom: Let there be Garbage…

To be fair though, the Venom/Brock stuff is still good, and about the only thing worth watching in both movies… really emphazises the fact that Hardy is a great actor and that they should probably pay him waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than whatever they paid him for these 2 movies ’cause he’s the one carrying that shitshow on his shoulders.

Oh and the post-credit scene… yeah okay, why not, I mean, fuck it right?…

This Fantastic Four cast leak is probably fake, but it would be so amazing

    Glenn Howerton – Reed Richards
    Kristen Bell – Sue Storm
    Chase Stokes – Johnny Storm
    Seth Rogen – Ben Grimm

It is all probably bullshit. Howerton would be an interesting choice as Reed though. Hard pass on Bell. I am not familiar with Stokes. I could actually see Rogen as the Thing.

Damn, they’re really bringing Super Strange from the What If huh?? okay then…

Is that America Chavez or something? I’m vaguely familiar with her name and look, but have no idea who she is, but wow, talk about bottom of the barrel. But hey, Shumma Gorath… yay! He’s not purple though… nay!

Well, it’s about the one movie I’m looking forward to, so I hope Raimi is up to the task of bringing the weird to this movie… I suppose the way these movies work all of the visual shit will be handled by other people… but I hope they also do some cool stuff, it’ll suck if they only rehash the same stuff or if they don’t get too creative with it.

  • #81394

But hey, Shumma Gorath… yay! He’s not purple though… nay!

  • #81398

Who??? Also, why??? I mean, hey, Shuma Gorath ain’t like super famous, but at least he was in some famous games… also: I just looked him up, he’s not even purple lol… that was a palette color in the games, damn you memory!!! He’s actually green-ish, so yeah, no point in it being Gargantos or whatever ’cause that looks like Shuma Gorath, except for the red eye… =P

Also, yes, Doctor Strange should fight a Shuma Gorath, Black Heart, Dormamu and Amingo team-up!

I’ve watched “What If…?” now and it was rather better than I expected it to be. Although rather too many of those episode were entirely bleak – I mean, I get that one of the advantages of a “what if” thing is that you can do the thing you can normally never do, which is let the heroes fail and die, but damn, it felt like there were like six episodes of everything going to shit before there suddenly was a Thor comedy one. But they were all good, individually. Better written than I’d thought they’d be, and well-directed, too, as well as just very good animation – some really awesome action scenes in there. And it was nice that they got most of the original actors. I liked that they tied it all together in the final episodes, too.

  • #83035

I am 50/50 on this guy as Reed. I have to see the rest of the cast and see if he can pull off a serious Reed Richards.

  • #83043

Yeah, I’d like to see a Reed who is rougher around the edges than Tony – just as brilliant, just as sharp, but with fewer social skills. I suppose Cumberbatch would’ve been the obvious choice if he wasn’t already Doctor Strange.

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #83116

    From a reply on Facebook:

I think they should have Reed be beyond Stark when they introduce him. Reed has always been about the science where as Stark was a businessmen. Having Reed much more knowledgeable then Stark but maybe not being as successful or interested in money would be a good route to take. Stark delt with time travel, armor and a.i. tech. Reed could be about and always has been more about “Bigger” things like other dimensions, space gods and exploration. Reeds tech should be shown sort of how Asgardian tech was in that it almost seems like Magic.

Ok… But it was Doom who developed his own time machine. Its a shame Tony is gone and will most likely not come back to meet Reed or Doom.

Indeed. Of course in the preview, he seems to junk his name is Steven until he gets a phone call with someone calling him Mark. So I would assume he is, in fact, quite confused.

1 user thanked author for this post.
  • #83233

I watched the longer trailer (I’ll post below).

I think technically the accent isn’t bad but it’s quite an affected voice, this kind of high pitched nervous tone. The question is how long that voice and the ‘Stephen’ personality sticks around. It’s actually be interesting to have different accents with different personalities. I think of the story of that American woman who awoke from a coma with an English accent – there are more examples of that, one with French.

As to the rest, it looks like they’ve taken a cue from Lemire’s run with the hallucination stuff, where you were never quite sure what was real or not. I found that and interesting element to add onto the multiple personality stuff.

2 users thanked author for this post.
  • #83234

If they’ve been inspired by Lemire’s run then it could be really great.

I’m looking forward to this, not least as it’s the first original character to launch a Disney+ MCU tv show. All the others have been pre-established characters from the movies. I’m hoping that gives it a bit more freedom to do its own thing.

  • #83259

There is zero logic in that scene.

    You say that but…

    It is from Avengers 33

It is how some writers can make a seemingly mid level hero (at least to the average reader) such a threat to an A list popular hero like Thor.

If the MCU wants to give attention to Moon Knight, have him in a scene like this where he can manipulate the hammer, like the Vision picked up the hammer, same with Cap and so on.
