Tumblr is that cloud of toxic smoke from Ferngully….
ClimBROS?
Adam or Eve must have run a wonderful barber shop back in the day. Smooth as a baby’s bottom shave and biblical Brylcreem to the max.
Apparently Cain is so sinister that he has two left hands!
Apparently Cain is so sinister that he has two left hands!
Well, it’s hard to surprise me, as I think my denomination of Judaism’s interpretation of the Cain and Abel story would sound even more ridiculous to people who don’t understand the theological/interpretive tradition
I want to be a dragon when I grow up.
I’ll share all my gold.
That’s not how it works, Bernadette. According to the bylaws of dragonship, dragons are required to hoard all their gold and slumber on top of it. Read THE HOBBIT for more details, or just follow Jeff Bezos.

Do you mean “A short History of New Zealand” Jerry?
“Semen retention needs to be on this list”
Isn’t that the purpose of the cold showers at the top of the list?
Im pretty sure Riker wears something like when he’s off duty anyway.
Chips & Chips, our national dish.
The really funny thing about that is that the second column is completely unnecessary as there’s no discount for buying an item with chips – the second column literally just adds the price of chips (£1.90) to the price of the main item.
It’s a column for people who can’t be bothered to add up themselves.
Except the extra 50p for chips with chips!
A wily entrepreneur could buy two lots of chips at a time for £2.40, then set up a shop next door that sells on single portions of chips at £1.50 a time, undercutting the original shop by 40p and still making a tidy profit of 30p per portion!
It should be possible to get a better deal for chips without chips.
Chip shops have always offered a large portion for not much more. Any canny family ordered 2-3 large portions and divies them up at home, right?
Not that I have had chipshop chips for quite a while. Little point in London.
Yeah and it’s pretty obvious it’s the large portion they are selling for 50p more, it’s just their dumb signage.
There used to be a Chinese restaurant/chip shop hybrid next to my place in college and they sold the most enormous bags of chips known to man. They were crinkle cut so they didn’t cut the potatoes there obviously but bought them in packs and they were so big they were effectively cooking a 1kg bag of Birds Eye frozen chips for you. Some impoverished students waiting on grant/loan/bank of mum and dad payments would make them last all day for sustenance.
What’s the regular condiment used with fish and chips? I don’t remember having anything like mayo or ketchup when I was in London.
We also have peanut sauce with french fries. Sometimes it’s good but other times it tastes bland or too sugary. I usually have mayo, it’s so good with fries.
The very delicious Pommes Frites in Greenwich Village offers 7 free sauces and garnishes; for an extra $1.75 you can also choose on of 36 special dipping sauces, such as War Sauce (frites sauce, peanut satay, and raw onions).
Now I have a craving for chips.
Salt and vinegar are a must, ketchup is recommended, and I am also a fan of tartare sauce on the fish.
My daughter can’t stand ketchup or vinegar though, and loves mayo, so it’s often just a personal preference thing.
So do I. Luckily there is a pub about a mile away that is run by students from a Sheffield University that come to Rochester for internships. British Fish and Chips have been ordered.
I wasn’t planning to, but I’m going to have chips for dinner.
CHIPPY CHIPS!!!
What is frites sauce, Jerry?
I think we need an updated price list to make this clearer.
They come with salt and vinegar and then ketchup is the norm if people want it. Usually you have to buy it as an extra in sachet.
Mayo is very Benelux.
Curry sauce.
What is frites sauce, Jerry?
It’s a Dutch condiment, similar to mayonnaise but sweeter and leaner.
Frietsaus is used interchangeably with mayonnaise here. My dad calls everything frietsaus. I call it mayo. But Jerry is right, officially frietsaus has something like 25 % fat and mayonnaise has to contain 70 % by law. The taste is very similar but frites funamentalists would probably not like being served frietsaus when they ask for mayonnaise.
Too soon Martin.
Too Soon.
I’m tempted to make a joke about the second coming but probably best to leave it.
HE HAS RISEN!!!
He’s known as ‘Clark the Cape’ in the valleys.
