So, y’all see that Snyder cut?
Did he hurt himself shaving?
So, y’all see that Snyder cut?
I think there’s a typo in that final word.

‘Teen Titans’ Live-Action Movie a Go at DC Studios (Exclusive) – Hollywood Reporter
‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ scribe Ana Nogueira will write the screenplay.
It’s go time for the Teen Titans.
The DC heroes, which began as the teenaged sidekicks of their more famous and iconic counterparts, are getting their own live-action feature from the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DC Studios.
The comic book movie division of Warner Bros. Discovery has tapped Ana Nogueira to pen the screenplay for the project. The hiring further ensconces the actress and playwright-turned scribe into the DC family as she is already writing Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for the label.
The Teen Titans were first introduced in the mid-1960s and featured Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad as well as Wonder Girl. Other teens such as Speedy, the sidekick to Green Arrow, joined the adventures later. The comics skewed young and were not considered major sellers until the 1980s relaunch by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
With the addition of Beast Boy and new creations Cyborg, Raven and Starfire joining Robin and Wonder Girl, The New Teen Titans became a massive hit and DC’s No. 1-selling comic. The run matured the characters, defined personalities and relationships, introduced true archenemies, with many themes and ideas that still reverberate in the comics and other storytelling forms in modern times.
The book has been revamped several times in various configurations of characters, new and old. DC Comics currently publishes Titans, featuring the classic 1980s combo but with the characters no longer teenagers.
The Teen Titans became an unexpected hit media franchise thanks to Teen Titans Go!, a comedic and frequently meta take on DC. The animated series has run eight seasons on Cartoon Network, airing close to 400 episodes. The series also spawned a feature film, Teen Titans Go! To the Movie, which was released in theaters in July 2018. The characters have also popped up in video games, among other media.
Nogueira was known for her acting, which included a stint on CW’s The Vampire Diaries and credits on such shows as The Michael J. Fox Show and the recent Starz series Hightown. However she has also built a thriving writing career, and her play Which Way to the Stage debuted off-Broadway in 2022. In November 2023, it was revealed that she was writing DC’s Supergirl, a standalone feature centered on the Kryptonian cousin of Superman. The project is now seeking a director.
Still so weird to me that this is a thing that’s actually happening.
Still so weird to me that Colin Farrell is the Penguin.
I think that actually looks more interesting than the first one.
It’s a very well put together trailer. It’ll be interesting to see how this measures up to the first one.
Hey, I saw the Flash!
So… a mixed bag, obviously, with a lot of good and some bad.
Good:
– It was very watchable. A lot of the funny scenes really worked for me, and the plot carried the movie along at a good pace.
– The Batmen were fun, as were the glimpses into alternate DC realities. I also liked Supergirl.
– The Flash’s story worked pretty well, and the whole thing with the parents was touching rather than boring to me. Well done.
– Ezra Miller was very good at playing two versions of himself.
– The way they visualised time travel was very cool, I thought.
Bad:
– Jesus, the CGI really was fucking terrible in this. This is where I get why some people want Snyder back in charge. What the fuck? I mean, the weirdly weightless fight scenes and all that are almost something you can get used to, but there are shots of the CGI-ed people (like the Reeves Superman) in which they look like from a nineties computer game. Bloody hell!
– The pacing was a bit odd sometimes, and the movie was too long. They could’ve gotten rid of the fucking flatmate/co-worker sidekicks with no loss whatsoever for the movie, for example. (I did like the BTTF dialogue, but they didn’t really need those guys for that.) There was just too much indulgence; there’s no way a movie this light should be more than two hours.
– I dunno if the tone of the ending worked for me. I mean, you watch what is pretty much a light-hearted comedy for two hours and then you have this super-dark sequence that ends in one of the two protagonists being gruesomely killed… I don’t know, man. Just, rather too dark for this movie, you know? And I mean, yes, that’s not the actual ending, there’s a supposedly “happy” ending with the parents and Iris, but… the comedic happy-go-lucky guy who actually just wanted to fix things for everybody does get killed horribly. This really wasn’t that kind of movie, honestly. And there’s the problem of… you know how people kept talking about how Indy should’ve just stayed at home and everything would’ve been okay? That’s kind of the case here.
I liked it overall. But I can’t say that I’m too sad to see this version of the DC cinematic universe go. And it’s pretty cool that it ends with a shot of George Clooney, too.

I’m prepared to have my mind changed by seeing better images..But just from this, i kind of hate it.
The fact they’re taking inspiration from the New 52 is an immediate red flag. It also looks very much like a MCU style costume by trying to make it look like real fabric.
Still looking forward to seeing what Gunn does. But that’s a weird first image to show imo.
I’m concerned about how much Superman seems to be taking his time to put his boots on. There’s a giant alien laser outside! Hurry up!
… “In the background, a rather terrifying eyeball-looking creature appears to be causing destruction.
The scary glowy eyeball in question might very well be Solaris the Tyrant Sun, a villain that made its first appearance in DC One Million #1 back in 1998. It’s also featured in the 2005 comic series All-Star Superman and its 2011 animated adaptation, which was released direct-to-video by Warner Bros. Animation.”
No one has mentioned the most important thing: The red underwear!
(If looks fine. It’s hard to judge from the early images. I thought Robert Pattinsons Batman suit looked like total crap on the first photos, but it looked great on screen.)
I saw this on Facebook:
It does seem like an image that is consciously designed to be memed.

‘Blue Beetle’ Animated Series In Works As DC Plots Next Chapter For Superhero Franchise – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are looking to continue telling Blue Beetle stories via an animated series currently in development, sources close to production tell Deadline. Miguel Puga (The Casagrandes) has been working on the project since early this year and will serve as the project’s showrunner and director with Cristian Martinez (Women of the Movement, Good Trouble) set as writer.
Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, director and screenwriter of the 2023 film, respectively, will executive produce alongside John Rikard who served in the same capacity on the film. Galen Vaisman, who was an EP on the film, will oversee the animated TV series for DC Studios.
D.C. Studios and Warner Bros. Animation declined to comment for this story.
Many things are still in flux including contracts for any main cast, however, multiple have been approached and DC has received a positive response regarding returns. Deadline understands the animated series will build on the movie, developed under DC Studios’ previous regime, but will divert from telling the same story. Instead, the show will create its own story which, in success, could potentially lead to a return to the big screen for the giant blue bug portrayed by Xolo Maridueña, I hear.
The Blue Beetle film focused on the third character to play the titular superhero in the comics, Jaime Reyes, a popular El Paso teen. Created by Charles Wojtkowski for Fox Comics in 1939, Jaime first appeared in comic books in the high-tech alien armor in 2006.
Maridueña’s Blue Beetle is shown as a recent college graduate who returns home to figure out what he wants to do with his life. While taking a job alongside his younger sister Milagro (Belissa Escobedo), he disagrees with Victoria Kord (Susan Sarandon), of the infamous Kord Industries, while defending Victoria’s beautiful niece, Jenny (Bruna Marquezine).
The Kord family drama blows up after Jaime, unknowingly, finds himself holding an alien scarab that has the power to turn special holders into Blue Beetle. It’s very rare for he who possesses the scarab to turn into the superhero, but it miraculously works for Jaime, thus, ruining Kord Industries’ plans for world domination. The film follows Jaime’s adventures from unemployed Pre-Law graduate with no prospects, to giving Kord the battle of a lifetime.
I’d be more excited about that if Batman 2 was already to come out, but since we’re years away from that, it feels odd to have this out in the wilderness as part of something there’s not a lot of buzz for.
Yep. Still just a weird decision to me to make a Penguin series. And it looks… okay.
But hey, Clancy Brown!
I like the general look, but is surprised that the suit looks a bit to big for the actor. (It will probably look better in the move than it does in these pictures, so I’m sure it’s fine.)
And another thing: Has Mr. Terrific been stabbed in the foot?
HBO have greenlit a Green Lanterns TV series, written by Damon Lindleof and Tom King: https://tvline.com/news/green-lantern-series-order-hbo-max-damon-lindelof-tom-king-1235271064/
HBO, in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, has given an eight-episode, straight-to-series order to the live-action Green Lantern series written by Damon Lindelof and Eisner Award winner Tom King.
Chris Mundy (True Detective: Night Country, Ozark) will serve as showrunner and executive-produce with Lindelof and King.
Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
Yes, I am sure the porn guy makes the best costumes ever :eyeroll:

Oh wow. Lindelof and King on writing is very promising. Consider my breath bated.
‘Superman’ scene currently being filmed in Public Square is shaping up to be a big one (photos, spoilers)
There are some fotos out now of Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner on set, and I love how ridiculous Fillion looks in his Green Lantern costume with blonde-dyed hair. He’ll be a great Guy Gardner.
‘Watchmen Chapter 1’ Trailer Introduces Matthew Rhys, Katee Sackhoff as Animated DC Heroes – Hollywood Reporter
Adapting the classic comic book series, director Brandon Vietti’s two-part movie is set for release later this year from Warner Bros.
The Doomsday Clock is ticking in the trailer for the animated feature Watchmen Chapter 1.
Hailing from Warner Bros. Animation and Paramount, the title is the first in a two-part film based on the classic DC Comics series Watchmen, a satirical project focusing on an alternate reality in which superheroes — known as costumed vigilantes — have been outlawed. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment releases director Brandon Vietti’s feature via digital platforms Aug. 13 before it hits Blu-ray on Aug. 27.
The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys as Dan Dreiberg and Nite Owl, Katee Sackhoff as Laurie Juspeczyk and Silk Spectre, Titus Welliver as Rorschach and Walter Kovacs, and Michael Cerveris as Jonathan Osterman and Dr. Manhattan. Also voicing characters are Troy Baker, Adrienne Barbeau, Corey Burton, Jeffrey Combs, Kelly Hu and Phil LaMarr.
“There is good, and there is evil, and evil must be punished, even in the face of armageddon,” Welliver says as Rorschach in the trailer. “I shall not compromise on this.”
Vietti directed the film from a script by J. Michael Straczynski. It is based on the comic book series from writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons that was released in 1986 and 1987. Vietti, James Krieg and Cindy Rago are producers on the movie.
In 2009, Warner Bros. released director Zack Snyder’s live-action feature adaptation Watchmen in theaters after a lengthy development process. Starring Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson, the film holds a 65 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and collected $185 million at the global box office.
A decade later, an HBO series of the same name from creator Damon Lindelof was set 34 years after the events of the comics. The show was widely acclaimed, earning 11 Emmys from 26 nominations.
Watchmen Chapter 2 is set to be released later this year.

JMS writing this means I’m going to have to watch this, doesn’t it?
Apparently JMS has said that he’s added nothing to it in terms of additional writing, but has just taken what was already in the book and restructured it for the animation.
Yeah, it pretty much looks like Watchmen: The Animated Comic. Which isn’t bad thing, of course. I’m sure I’ll watch it at some point.
Oh weird. I guess the voice of Lex Luthor was recast for Kite Man.
Previously voiced by Giancarlo Esposito in Harley Quinn, now Lex is being voiced by Lance Reddick.
Cool, but sorta sad at the same time.
I’m a fan, so I’ll have to enjoy the moment.
Yes, I am sure the porn guy makes the best costumes ever :eyeroll:
Actually, I’ve seen the costumes made for his porn parodies. They’re pretty decent and comics accurate.
I am sure they’re pretty decent. Doesn’t mean they’d look good in an actual movie.

“Seen the Costumes”
Sure…. That’s all.
If they’re covered up in costumes then that sounds like terrible porn.

Don’t kink-shame people, Dave.

Filming has wrapped on Superman. Gunn writes:
I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set – and for that I am forever grateful.
And in “Actor doesn’t want work” news:
That’s a shame, but I’m sure Brolin has more than enough offers for great projects.
Matthias Schoenaerts Lands ‘Supergirl’ Villain Role – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: We can tell you that Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts has landed the villain role in Warner Bros/DC‘s Supergirl.
Supergirl is based on Tom King’s 2022 comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which Bilquis Evely illustrated. Ana Nogueira adapted the comic book for the big screen. In that comic, the bad guy is Krem of the Yellow Hill, who kills a young alien girl’s father. She draws Supergirl into the conflict.
We told you first that Craig Gillespie is directing the next chapter in the “Gods and Monsters” Phase 1 of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Extended Universe. The film will lens in January in the UK and hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
“Lanterns” may have its Hal Jordan:
Well, not as high profile as they’d hoped, but I’ve always liked him. He’s a good actor.
So, is this going to be kinda like Wallace and Gromit, then? I mean, I know it’s not claymation but puppetry, but from the vice, I mean?
The Swaybox reel is very cool, but… this is one fucking weird project to be sure.
Joker 2 has a 34% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn’t unexpected, but it has a 36% from users, which is roughly 50 points lower than almost any user score I’ve seen for a big mainstream non-female-focused movie.

My wife and her nephew saw it and they didn’t care for it.
‘Lanterns’ Casts Aaron Pierre as John Stewart
He was good in Rebel Ridge and looks exactly like the character, so pretty good casting.
Yeah, I haven’t seen Rebel Ridge yet, but from the trailer he seems really good. Very solid choice.
The Joker sequel is heading home after less than a month in theaters
Joker: Folie à Deux has been in theaters for less than a month, but Warner Bros. has already set a home release date for the box office bomb.
Gizmodo reports that Joker: Folie à Deux will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting on October 29th, with a DVD / Blu-ray / 4K physical release to follow on December 17th.
Though Warner Bros. envisioned Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel replicating the first film’s success, the DC Comics-inspired musical failed to meet expectations both critically and commercially. Between its $200 million production budget and the $100 million Warner Bros. spent marketing the film, its projected box office totals — $65 million domestically and somewhere between $210 million to $215 million globally — made it a huge loss for the studio.
A lot more people are probably going to wind up seeing the film specifically because it’s coming out so soon after its buzzy (and ultimately disappointing) theatrical release, but it feels like Warner Bros. just wants to get it over with before its next wave of expensive comics tentpoles.
