If you look on the homepage I’ve added a small Amazon banner. This is a link to our affiliate page which means a small percentage of anything you buy on Amazon is given to the site.

If you are planning to buy anything from Amazon try and use this link instead. The prices are exactly the same.

You can bookmark it as well using this URL

It’s a low effort/no cost way to help keep the lights on so would be much appreciated.

Nice idea! I’m afraid it doesn’t quite work all-internationally, as the German amazon page is a different one. I’ll try though.

That looks like the next step. A bit time consuming as I have to set up each country individually but now I see it works for the US site I’ll set it up for UK, Canada, Germany etc.

Was just gonna ask about dot co dot uk, I often order POD stuff from them for advantageous shipping.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/?tag=thecarrier-21&linkCode=ur1

That should be a UK link

    https://www.amazon.de/?tag=thecarrier06-21&linkCode=ur1

    That should be Germany

    That seems to work, cheers!

It works so after you visit that page anything you buy within 24 hours on Amazon gets credited to the affiliate program. So it’d be really handy if all the regulars bookmark them instead of the regular amazon homepage.

    I see.

So Bezos knows we are here then.

That’s great. I’ve bookmarked the UK link.

    Done!

So if  I click on the UK link, bookmark it, log in and all purchases are then covered?

  • #18395

Does this work if I order through the Amazon app?

Yes it counts any purchases if you’ve visited the link in the last 24 hours. So once you go to the main page you can browse around to your heart’s content and it will still register as our lead.

I don’t think so. It works via a cookie in your browser so if you switch to the app I don’t see how it would connect the two or see it as a ‘lead’.

Just to add if you put anything in your cart the time period becomes 90 days where it is still credited to The Carrier.

I have a load of saved items that get bought when the price drops, so ought to work fine.

You can delete the bookmarks, Amazon kicked us off because they said it was breaking terms and conditions by only using friends and family, which isn’t true and I could appeal but with all their various caveats on payouts it only brought in $2.79, so I can’t be arsed.

That’s a shame. It was worth a try.

I revived the Amazon UK banner.

I didn’t realise at first but the email saying The Carrier was kicked off only applied to Amazon.com, the US site, the UK and German ones are still sending me emails as a member. So feel free to use the link again for those.

The payouts weren’t great but it’s better than nothing.
